Song of The Week

The 27-year-old Canadian singer/songwriter and mother Lights is back!

She started a 10 day countdown on all her social media accounts and on July 22nd the countdown was over and it was one of biggest surprise ever! Not only was it an announcement about her fourth upcoming album titled “Little Machine” that’s set to be released on September 23rd 2014, but as well she released a new song from it called “Up We Go” and by the looks of it, this is a huge HIT. Giving a huge props to this hot bombshell, “Up we go” is this week’s Song of The Week.

Song Of The Week

There’s a hot new alternative and R&B  singer/songwriter and musician from Los Angeles, California on the block and she goes by the name of BANKS.  I randomly discovered the 26-year-old on Youtube and intensely fell head over heels in love with her!  BANKS has the most angelic voice ever, it’s so soft and beautiful and it makes me sad that when I discovered her that’s when she had a concert in Toronto which I sadly missed and that truly sucks but no worries, that’s why “Drowning” from her album Goddess is this weeks Song Of The Week!

Song Of The Week

Nicki has finally released the lead single “Pills ‘N’ Potion” off her third upcoming album “Pink Print” and I must say that this song is highly addictive to a point where it was on automatically on repeat on my iPhone. Since this brand new track is a banger hit and keeps on climbing on the iTunes chart around the world, is it quite possible that Nicki Minaj just release the SONG OF THE SUMMER? It was no brainer that I had to make her this weeks Song Of The Week, so check out Pills ‘N’ Potion below:

Song of the Week

This weeks Song of The Week goes to Pretty Hurts by Beyonce, pretty hurts is the first song off of  Beyoncé fifth studio album not only is the video powerful but so is the message behind the song  which  is “Well I think we definitely wanted to speak to as many women as we could and all the pain and struggle that we go through as women to maintain this impossible standard of beauty,” Matsoukas explained to MTV News. “We wanted to give it a darker edge and take it there and not give you the Disney version of that struggle. And Beyoncé was more than willing to go that far with it. And I applaud her for that. At one point, a frustrated Bey knocks down her wall of trophies, which is supposed “to represent knocking down those beauty standards and falling into a victim of that.”

Song Of The Week

I got a message by one of my dear friend and she asked me”Alysha what happened to your”Song Of The Week” that was on the side widget of your blog? I really loved it!” and I thought to myself that I didn’t think people would notice it was gone because of the malfunction that was happening with wordpress and because of that problem it wouldn’t allow me to update or change it so sadly I had to remove it. She suggested that I started doing it as a blog post and I really LOVED that idea, that I decided why not make it a part of my blog.
